Leonore Olsen

"It is my vision to establish water farming of seaweed as a new aquaculture industry for Norway".

Leo holds an MSc. in Fisheries- and Aquaculture Science from The Arctic University of Norway and Memorial University of Newfoundland and is a current board member in the Norwegian Seaweed Association.

Chief Executive Officer

Leonore Olsen

Leo holds an MSc. and has more than 20 years of hands-on experience from aquaculture and fisheries.
She worked five years in the private research company SINTEF where lead large science excursions, spending more than a month at sea without docking.
Most of these were data surveys on-board commercial vessels in the Barents Sea and Norwegian Sea.

Leo started her career at the age of twelve in salmon aquaculture and has practical and theoretical knowledge based in Norwegian aquaculture production.

Leo is a current board member of Norwegian Seaweed Association, a work package leader on product development in a two year marketing project for Seaweed from Norway and she has also been involved in rigging the Norwegian Seaweed Custer.

Janita Zenteno

Janita has a formal education from Bilder Nordic School of Photography and has for eight years worked as a professional photographer. 

While founding and growing her own business, Janita has been in the forefront of building two other start-up's: Tromsø Adventure, a traveling/booking company for arctic tourism and Sjy Seaweed.

Janita has produced purpose-based content for the US-based seafood company Kvarøy Arctic since 2021 and she has highly appreciated and valuable skills in visual communication and visual positioning of brands.

Yngve Olsen

Yngve is a Skipper (Master At Sea) and a professional diver in Nova Master, which is a provider of ocean related operations along the Norwegian Coast. 

He has more than 30 years of experience with salmon and sea urchin aquaculture. The last fifteen years Yngve has been leading underwater engineering operations in regards to both planning and execution.

Clive Zickel

Clive has more than 40 years of experience from Chartered Accountant at BDO, KPMG, International Banker (CFO) at JPM Chase. Founded, operated, grew and sold a specialty food company. Co-founded two other companies, including Open Blue, the world’s largest open ocean sustainable fish farm.

Professor in entrepreneurship and finance. Currently provides Strategic and Financial Consulting to young and growing companies.

Pam Negoro

Pam has over 25 years experience in marketing, media management, shopper marketing and mobile shopper engagement at The Coca-Cola Company, RPA, DDB Needham and founder of two companies Touch MobilizingShoppers and HighBeam Marketing.

Pam has been consulting and driving sales for start-ups in the business planning, product innovation, marketing, omnishopper, digital and media strategy areas.

Jose A. Gonzalez

Jose, with over 25 years of experience, has a proven track record in sales, marketing and operations growth strategies in the U.S.  

His experience includes beverage and snacks startups launching ZICO Coconut Water creating a new segment in the competitive beverage category.  

He is also experienced in working with Fortune 500 national and international brands that includes CPG, retail, financial services, beauty, real estate, tourism and beer/spirits.

Gjermund Olsen

Gjermund is partner and production manager for Kvarøy Fiskeoppdrett Ltd. which is one of the world's most sustainable producers of salmon.

Gjermund has also been a part of several successful start-up companies within the aquaculture industry.

For Sjy Seaweed, Gjermund play a key role in securing a sustainable development of our business model while also contributing with much of the practicalities of bringing the idea of Sjy Seaweed to life.

Gorm is CEO in Nordic Naturals Ltd and has more than 30 years of experience in business development and has for a great number of years worked in R&D, developing greener solutions for Norwegian businesses with high ambitions. 

Gorm play a key role in Sjy's strategic development and provide decades of solid business experience.
